After a brief relationship, the Stranger Things star accepted a marriage proposal from rock star Jon Bon Jovi’s son, who managed to get a life-changing yes from the young actress thanks to a ring owned by his mother.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Millie revealed that Jake first went to the jewelry store with his mother, Kelly Brown. However, in the end, the woman entrusted her future son-in-law with a diamond ring, which is very expensive for her 19-year-old daughter Millie.
“I have always loved this ring, I have always been obsessed with this ring. She knew about it and gave it to Jake,” she said. “They were involved in the whole story with this proposal. I love that I can always carry a piece of my mother with me.”
Love at first sight
It was love at first sight between Millie and Jake, and the first person the star spoke to about her interest in the 21-year-old was Kelly’s mom.
“I became interested in him and wanted to know more. The moment we talked, I knew this was going to be a huge part of my life,” she explained. “So I ran to my mother and said, ‘I really like this.’ After we met, we knew we would never leave each other.”
They got engaged in April after working together for a year and a half.
