Tonight, students from the CPM Institute of Music, a music school founded and directed by Franco Moussida, will be the protagonists of the Dancing to the Film Notes evening, which will take place in Piazza Aranci in Massa Carrara on the occasion of the fifth edition of the Silver Mercurio Award dedicated to musical compositions (beginning events at 21.30 – admission is free).

CPM Ultra Pop Band, consisting of Lorenzo Niniano (graduated from pop rock guitar), Adalberto Luigi Gambacorta (graduated from pop rock bass), Vincenzo Garofalo (3rd course drumming and percussion), Giacomo Gulino (2 Sophia Pragliola and Arcangelo Deleo (both Canto Pop Rock 2nd year students) will perform live some of the most famous and award-winning soundtracks and film soundtracks by composers and artists of the stature of Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Vangelis, Giorgio Moroder, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Joe Hisaishi, Lady Gaga, Irene Cara, Olivia Newton John, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Billy Eilish and many others.

The performances will be decorated with choreography created by the dancers of the dance school Max Ballet Academy – Centro Formazione Danza Firenze.

The Silver Mercurio Award, created to highlight the importance of musical composition and its role in everyday life (films, advertising, video games), is held by the Municipality of Massa under the auspices of the ACMF – Association of Film Music Composers.

For three days, from last Thursday to Saturday 26 August, the Silver Mercurio award turns the historic center of the Tuscan city into a musical center, animated by a competition dedicated to the image of composers, workshops, debates and musical meetings with Italian and foreign composers. .

The CPM Institute of Music (recognized by the MUR as an Institute for Higher Art, Music and Dance Education) boasts a rich and well-defined educational program of courses specializing in instrumental, vocal and professional training under the guidance of professional teachers (bass, drums, singing, guitar). , piano and keyboards, sound engineer, pop rock composition, electronic music producer, songwriting, harp, brass and pop rock violin), and also offers academic, pre-academic, multi- and monostylistic, individual courses (AFAM, BAC, Diploma, Certificate, Individual and Master).

It is also possible to complete a three-year and two-year AFAM period to obtain an academic diploma of the 1st and 2nd level, a qualification equivalent to a three-year education, and a master’s degree recognized nationally and in all European countries.

Many of those who studied at CPM today work in prestigious orchestras, play and sing as choristers or musicians in groups of outstanding artists (from Laura Pausini to Ermal Meta), others have started their own artistic careers (including Mahmoud, Chiara Galiazzo, Renzo Rubino, Cordio, Tananai).

Since 1988, he has also been involved in the distribution of music in extreme places. The most recent initiative is CO2 “Controlling Hate”, which consists of installing special audio libraries with only instrumental music, divided by mood, operating in 11 Italian prisons (Milan, Opera). , Monza, Turin, Alessandria, Rome, Naples, Venice, Genoa, Bologna, as well as the current version of the Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan).

It implements educational musical projects for the social sector, such as the educational activities included in the regeneration programs of the Community of San Patrignano, and for industry, such as the development of quality radio for the NaturaSì network, for culture, with participation in the Campiello Youth Prize.
