Magli, Grand Final on 31 August and 2 September with two concerts “Chiari di Luna” 2023

JERSEY (LE) – Grand finale with a double appointment, one of which was added during the performance, for “Chiari di Luna”, a theater festival held at Villa Tamborino, Malia. In fact, the series, under the artistic direction of Massimo Giordano, will end with two performances: on August 31, a new regional premiere is scheduled, starring the recently graduated actors of the Turin Stable Theater in Frank Wedekind’s Spring Awakening directed by Gabriele. Vacis.

Briefly about the performance: Moritz, Melchior, Wendla, Henschen, Ilse, Martha, each fourteen years old. And around them is a generation that doesn’t know it’s lost. Like all generations of teenagers. Adults are dumb, they have no words to cope with the coming changes, and when they speak, they do not know what to say.

The boys feel their bodies change, but there are no teachers to teach them how to survive. So sex, rape, abortion, homosexuality, and suicide go hand in hand with math homework, pink ribbons for handing out shirts, and forget-me-nots caught by the river. This is the “tragedy of children,” as the subtitle says, and this tragedy reflects the ghosts of the coming twentieth century, as well as the ghosts of our millennium, which prolongs adolescence indefinitely. The thirteen-year-old characters of that time, in fact, shine with the same pains that today’s thirteen-year-olds, children born in 2008, who listen to Billie Eilish and XXXTentacion, who know all worldly things. because the world does not end in the forest outside the city, because there are no more borders. How is it possible that this Germany of the late nineteenth century is so close to us? Among the shirts of his time, did Wedekind see boyish suicides and sentimental upbringing that still does not exist? The performance, born as a graduation essay of the 2018-2021 class of the Stable Theater in Turin, returns all the amazement of this discovery. And together – the life that flows in very young actors, the dreams that each of them brings with them after three years of marriage.

The nineteenth edition of “Chiari di Luna” will end on Saturday, September 2, again at Villa Tamborino, with an unscheduled show: “La Guerra di Rocco”, on stage which will see Massimo Giordano, lyricist along with Giovanni delle Donne. 1915: Rocco was a farmer from birth and a nerd even before he was born. He knows nothing about the war, about the trenches, about his homeland, but when he is called up and sent to the front, he is seized by a furious euphoria: a long-awaited opportunity to atone for his guilt from a difficult and hopeless life. War is considered a game in which you shoot but don’t kill, get hurt but don’t die, bullets are a joke, they’re just funny. However, the illusion does not last very long: Rocco is immersed in the tragedy of the war, which he still does not understand. And he tells it in his own way, between horror and laughter, because, despite bombs, flamethrowers, barbed wire, war is sometimes so tragic that it makes you laugh out loud.

Proceeds from the evening, organized in collaboration with the Lions Club Salento Territorio e Ambiente, will be donated in full to the association Sunrise Onlus and will be used to purchase a walker, a medical device that enables people with disabilities to move around. access to the sea is easier.
