Shakira drops controversial line from Bizarrap single amid fears of lawsuits from Pique

The famous Colombian singer Shakira was forced to change the verse of her song, written with Bizarrap, in order to avoid legal problems with her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué. According to what was revealed in an interview with composer Caitin on Molusco TV, the original lyrics for “BZRP Music Sessions #53” were overly harsh about Piqué and his new partner, Clara Chia.

Caitin explained that several changes were made during the song’s creation process to avoid potential repercussions in private life as well as from Shakira’s legal point of view. “We have removed some heavy parts. We modified some parts because they could cause problems… we had to make a few changes. We had to be very careful in balancing the lyrics, avoiding too aggressive, but not too weak,” the singer-songwriter said during an interview.

The main reason for this choice seems to be the desire of Shakira and her team to avoid a potential legal dispute with Pique. The famous couple broke up in 2021 after a long relationship, but they intend to maintain a warm relationship for the sake of their two children. The inclusion of excessive verses in the song could compromise this situation and provoke conflict between the two former partners.

The song, despite the changes, nevertheless became one of Shakira’s loudest musical hits, once again proving the talent and popularity of the singer. Shakira is known for her unique style and ability to create international hits, and this collaboration with Bizarrap has certainly further cemented her position in the music world.

As a result, Shakira was forced to edit part of her joint song with Bizarrap in order to avoid any legal consequences and protect her privacy. Despite these changes, the song became a huge hit, further highlighting Shakira’s talent and popularity in the international music scene.
