Timothée Chalamet Nightwing’s casting wishes come true in incredible new DC art

New DC Universe fan art shows what Timothée Chalamet could look like in the iconic superhero role Nightwing for DC Studios. Instead of the DCEU, there will be a new DC Universe that will give Warner Bros. Discovery is a new take on an interconnected superhero franchise. While several actors have already joined the DC Universe, including David Corenswet as Superman, there are still plenty of characters to play.

One of the mythologies featured in James Gunn’s DC Universe involves Batman and his extended family, which will be different from other game versions such as Robert Pattinson’s Batman universe. Whether it’s Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl or Robin, rumors are circulating about who should be cast in their respective roles at DC Studios.

As for Dick Grayson, Buffy2Ville recently shared an image of Chalamet posing as Nightwing Gunn in the DC Universe with an armored version of his iconic costume. The gallery shows how the Dune and Wonka actor could look like his favorite crime fighter both with and without the mask.

Although Nightwing has been cancelled, one of Gunn’s future projects in the DC Universe could already make Grayson a sequel. One of the major Gods and Monsters chapter 1 projects in the works is Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which will be a reboot of Bruce Wayne in the DC Universe, though it won’t be an origin story, but will focus on the already existing Caped Crusader.

Since Batman: The Brave and the Bold will introduce Damien Wayne, Bruce’s biological son and the fourth hero to take on the mantle of Robin, the DC Universe will already have a well-defined family of bats in this continuity. In the original announcement for Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Gunn and Peter Safran even mentioned that members of the bat family would likely appear in the film, though they didn’t specify which characters. If the DC Universe has already reached this point in Batman mythology, it’s likely that Grayson is already Nightwing, meaning he will most likely be introduced through Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

With the end of Titans this year, in which Brenton Thwaites played Nightwing, it’s time to bring the iconic DC hero to the big screen. Titans has been a good starting point for a wide audience to get to know Nightwing, and from there the DC Universe can approach Grayson from a new perspective as an active member of the Bat-Family. Let’s hope Nightwing’s plans for the DC Universe clear up as soon as possible.
