Waiting for Coachella 2023: the six most iconic moments of the Californian festival

The month of April for festival and music lovers means only one thing: Coachella. AND, again this year, from April 14 to 23 we will see the Californian desert transform into the epicenter of glamor and live shows. For those of us who won’t be lucky enough to be there, but are forced to stay in Italy, sighing as we watch YouTube videos, there is nothing better than a stroll down memory lane to bring to mind the most iconic moments of this festival.

RIHANNA (2012)

Our Rihanna, in 2012, had never performed at Coachella yet, but that year she certainly taught us how to make a surprise entrance worthy of the name. In fact, even if not announced, participated in the Calvin Harris dj set singing We found the love together with the public. Needless to say, it was one of the most watched performances of the festival.

BEYONCE (2018)

We are in 2018 and that year Coachella was renamed Beychella for the occasion: Beyoncé was in fact the most awaited artist on stage. The singer had been away from the scene for a few years, on break to devote more time to her family, and she could not fail to present herself to her audience with a magnificent show. The whole thing has also become a Netflix documentary, entitled Homecoming (obviously, one of the best of its kind).

ARIANA GRANDE AND THE ‘NSYNC REUNION (2019)

Ariana Grande loves 90s pop and its icons and never misses an opportunity to prove it. As headliner of his Coachella he paid homage to one of the most famous boybands in the world: ‘Nsync. For the occasion, the group returned to perform together after years. Ok, Justin Timberlake was missing, but it was epic all the same.

BLACKPINK (2019)

If we know the meaning of the term Kpop we certainly owe it to Blackpink who, in 2019, they made history by being the first Kpop girl band to perform at Coachella. This year they will repeat the record because they will always be the first to do so as headliner. We expect a crazy show, as they have accustomed us in recent years.

HARRY STYLES (2022)

It absolutely could not be missing from this list Harry Styles who gave us a textbook performance last year. First the duet with Lizzo on the notes of I will survive And What makes you beautiful and then the surprise of Shania Twain on stage with Man! I feel like a woman. Everything perfect in every single aspect.

MÅNESKIN (2022)

To close this list there could only be a bit of healthy Italian pride with our Måneskin who, in 2022, were the first band from our country to perform at Coachella. US audiences loved them almost as much as we did, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.
