The director is currently busy shooting Wicked for Universal Pictures and Marc Platt Production, which includes the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey. We were in January 2021 when Jon M. Chu left directing Willow.

The musical, which narrates the Joseph’s departure after he is kicked out by the 11 jealous brothershybridizes various musical genres – from country to calypso, from western to rock and roll – and has contributed to the success of artists such as Donny Osmond and Jason Donovan. Webber and Rice were inspired by Joseph during a school assignment in 1968, and then inspired by Book of Genesis of the Bible.

2023 seems to be a very flourishing period for the genre in question: for example, here is Lady Gaga singing like in a musical in the set of Joker 2.
