Christina Ricci speaks out about Masterson supporters’ comments: ‘Cool kids can be predators’ | TV

Christina Riccion his Instagram Stories, appeared to comment on what happened to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis after their intervention on behalf of their former colleague and friend Danny Masterson, who was convicted of two rapes, was revealed online.

The Yellowjacket star noted:

Sometimes people we love and admire do terrible things. They may not have done this to us and only we know who they were to us, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t do terrible things and discrediting those who were abused is a crime.

Christina added:

The people we know as the “tough kids” can be predatory and cruel. It’s hard to accept, but we have to do it. If we say we support the victims – women, children, men, boys – then we must be able to take that position. Unfortunately, I have met many of these “tough kids” who were nice to me and have been shown to commit violence in private. I have also had personal experience with this reality.

Ricci concluded:

Believe the victims. It’s not easy to get ahead. Getting a conviction is not easy.

Ashton and his wife Mila apologized yesterday for writing letters to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlene Olmedo saying Danny Masterson was a great friend and brother and asking for his sentence to be reduced.
Kutcher and Kunis, after the contents of the letters were published online, emphasized:

We recognize the pain caused by the letters we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson. We support the victims. We have done this in the past through our work and will continue to do so in the future.
