A child dies mysteriously in Yigui

The discovery of a one-year-old child dead in his residence has shocked the Los Soto Arriba area of ​​Higuey, La Alta Gracia province, where the minor lived.

The medical examiner who removed the body did not provide details on the cause of death, saying it would have to be “determined by an autopsy.”

The minor’s father, 48, who was the baby’s guardian, told authorities that around 5:00 p.m., he gave the child a drug called cephalexin that had been prescribed to him by a doctor. On duty at polyclinics in the area.

The little boy was brought to the public health center by his father with a fever after receiving the age-appropriate vaccine.

Authorities reported they found the minor in a room, face up on a bed.

The baby’s body will be transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Pathology (Inacif) in Santo Domingo for appropriate analysis.
