Alava Sewing Marathon 10 Hours of Sewing

Sewing is a craft that is slowly losing its following. However, there are still people who love sewing and are perfecting their skills day by day. For further improvements, 3rd Arava Sewing Marathon.The event organizes workshops, masterclasses and challenges this Saturday, September 16, Piazza Provencia.

The goal of this sewing marathon is to “promote the hobby and provide Meetings and exchange of interests among fans and contribute to the revitalization of the industry. ”This event is a collaboration between m.Class Moda Centro, Entretelas Vitoria and Gasteiz On Recover “the most handmade sewing”.

From the first hour, several sewing enthusiasts made a lined vest. In addition to this, there will also be a challenge during the day where participants “have to copy” the design proposed by the jury. The winner will receive as a gift an Alfa sewing machine and a “Regala Gasteiz” card of 50 euros, which can be spent at local businesses.

But it’s not just a day of sewing. Dameswing Dance School will energize the marathon with music and dance starting at 12:30pm.

  • 10:00 to 11:30 – sewing workshop: Make a lined vest. Participants will learn how to easily create the lines of a fashionable garment (all materials included). Taught by the Entretelas team.
  • 11:30 to 12:30 – Master’s course:Basic mode. Taught by José Carlos Herrera from m.CLASS Moda. Measurements, key tips, and cutting and ironing tips. Free admission.
  • 11:30 to 12:45 – children’s workshop: Make a snack holder for an eco-friendly way to carry lunch to school or outings.
  • 12:45 to 14:00 – Master’s course to learn about different Types of needles and presser feet, and its application in different types of fabrics. Free admission.
  • 12:30 – Music and dance performance by Dameswing of the Victoria-Gasteiz Dance School.
  • 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm – Entretelas and m.CLASS staff will assist you Solve sewing problems and informs about the new season’s fabrics, materials, workshops and courses.
  • 16:30 to 17:30 – Master Class: Corsets. Taught by José Carlos Herrera of m.CLASS moda. Using the “stamping” technique (modelling on a mannequin) you will create patterns and assemblies of tours to demonstrate the techniques and techniques of cutting and ironing.
  • 18:00 to 19:30 – “challenge” (Attendees received at 5:30 p.m.). A design will be presented and participants must replicate the design. Patterns and necessary materials will be provided. A jury will decide which one is the best design.
  • 8:00pm. – award price Certificates are awarded to the winners of the Sewing Challenge and certificates are presented to participants.
