Like adults. Brizzi’s new film is much more than a remake of an Italian cult

Marco, Tato, Serena and Leo are 8 years old and are inseparable friends. All four feel neglected by their families: Marco’s parents forget his birthday, choose the wrong cake and gift, humiliate him over his unresolved bedwetting problem, and force him to babysit his pest sister Sylvia. Tato lives with his single mother and is always looking for the love of his life. Serena simply doesn’t understand her father’s insistence that she become a tennis champion rather than a tireless snack eater. And then there is Leo, beloved by his grandparents, who raised him brilliantly, but simply do not understand that he would really like to find his parents, who disappeared in India. On the evening of Marco’s birthday, they blow out the candle together and together express the same wish: to grow up. One night, they are magically the same age as their parents, but with behaviors and thoughts typical of children. This will begin a series of fun adventures and unexpected events in which they will have to deal with everyday life: looking for housing and work. Will Marco even be able to win over the woman in his life, teacher Francesca… is everything as they imagined? Only time can give them the answers they are looking for. Like adultsFausto Brizzi’s film, presented at the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival 2023, will appear on Prime Video from June 28.
