Who says it this way: “The Roberto Cavalli collection is a journey to a tropical paradise, a party where different women coexist, such as Valentina Cortese, who for me is the symbol of Milanese style, together with Bianca Jagger and Cher. Three women, completely opposite, but living together in harmony. Colors are very important, it is a celebration of positivity, beauty and happiness, an antidepressant: a symphony of sunsets, from pink to orange, to trips to the Mexican desert. Feathers play a fundamental role, and there are also micro polka dots as an homage to men’s sleepwear that sit alongside the feathers. Denim is also important: Roberto Cavalli is the king of denim. A kimono with or without a print is a new jacket and a new coat.” Everything for construction glamor, the magic word without which the Roberto Cavalli brand could not exist.

Like a Lady Gaga concert, the pace of the parade is fast, and costumes from the history of the seventies appear in the optimistic colors of the future. Puglisi has a lot of will and also a great desire to succeed in his project. It’s not easy why he runs a brand with a very unique history. Look, for example, at the wooden clogs with leather uppers (“typically Tuscan: maximum Made in Italy,” says Puglisi), which even carry the models’ gait into the gesticulation of the Seventies.

Thankfully, Puglisi stops short of finishing the “documentary” about the brand’s history, but all indications are that fulfills the task assigned to him by the new owner. Who will find all the light and printed dresses, all the kimonos, all the bell-bottoms, all the hippie shirts, worn with a shell necklace as a pendant, pleasantly and easily sold. Ultimately, fashion also serves this purpose: to perpetuate a story that originated in one part of the world to enchant other worlds.
