LeBron James’ winning mentality on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is 100% real

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the definition of a winner. It takes a special mentality to perform at such a high level over the years, and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts appears to have the same mentality as the King.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Hurts addressed criticism that opposing defenses may be fumbling Philadelphia’s game plan. Here is the quote:

“When did winning stop being the most important thing?” Hurts told reporters.

“What I’m telling you is, it’s not about me; it’s about me.” It’s about us. There are many ways to win,” Hurts added.

“Keep the main thing going, winning is the only thing that really matters,” he said.

Hurts went on to explain why the Eagles haven’t “made it happen” yet, despite being 2-0, because not everything has gone smoothly. Even though he’s not at MVP level yet, winning is all that matters in the end. LeBron James responded to the interview and clarified what “few people truly understand” the injury means:

This is special. A victory is a victory, whether it’s beautiful or not doesn’t matter. Hurt is not concerned with personal honor. It’s just about getting the job done. Last season’s playoffs were no different for LeBron. He’s averaging less than 30 points per game, but the Lakers are thriving as a unit. Everyone around the king was doing their part.

Hurts completed 71.4 percent of his passes for 363 yards in two games. He threw just two touchdowns against one interception and was sacked seven times. Instead, the Eagles’ running game has been the primary source of offense. But then again, it doesn’t matter that Hurts doesn’t star. The results are there.

LeBron James can contribute 20 points in 2023-24, but he’ll be happy if the Lakers win a championship because all their role players play and Anthony Davis steps up.
