Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James seems to be looking forward to the halftime show of Super Bowl 58 because Usher will be the star of the show.
He posted on Instagram and even used multiple emojis to express his excitement.
This will be the award-winning artist’s second time participating in the exhibition. Usher also performed in 2011, although he only appeared as a supplement to headliners The Black Eyed Peas.
The 44-year-old R&B icon will follow Rihanna’s iconic performance at Super Bowl 57. It would be a hard move to follow as the Barbadian singer’s performance became the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show ever and was nominated for five Creative Arts Emmy Awards, winning three including Outstanding Variety Special (Live). In addition, Rihanna revealed on the show that she is pregnant with her second child.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles games themselves also provide great entertainment for fans. At halftime, Philadelphia led by 10 points. However, the Chiefs reversed course and took the championship trophy back to Kansas City with a 17-8 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Regardless of which team will be in the NFL Championship Game, James will likely be paying attention to the game, as he has been for the past few years.
He even attended the last Super Bowl, where he received some boos from the crowd when it was shown on the big screen. The players didn’t appear to be facing the four-time NBA MVP, as he even crowned himself as the cameras focused on him.
Super Bowl XVIII won’t be held until next February. So, unless some big announcements are made again, James may not be thinking about it for the time being. Lakers fans may hope he can focus on preparing himself and the team to compete for a championship this season.
Last season, Los Angeles reached the Western Conference Finals despite a slow start to the 2022-23 regular season. Its playoff run ended in a loss to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets. After a strong offseason, the team looks to be in contention for a high seed in the West this time around.
