Back in 2016, Brady had become an icon with the New England Patriots. Who better to bring Kevin Durant in his prime to the Boston Celtics?

Unfortunately for the Celtics, according to Durant’s long-time agent Rick Kleiman, Brady is more focused on helping the Celtics get another great win than anything else. Not bringing him to Boston.

during an appearance All Smoke PodcastKleiman talked about Durant’s experience entering free agency seven years ago.

“I remember when the Celtics came. So it was Celtics ownership and Danny Ainge, and I think Jae Crowder and Kelly Olynyk were there as well, but Tom Brady Coming,” he said.

“So it’s like, okay, shit, they’re really trying to level the playing field. So (Brady and Durant) went for a walk together, I guess.

“Later Durant said, ‘So he told me, the bottom line is, look for the best team, the best organization, the best chance to win, no matter what.'”

“I think Brady just told me to go to the (Golden State) Warriors, man.”

It wasn’t just Brady who took the field, Patriots star Julian Edelman and Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz were also involved.

“From the fans, to the history, to the amazing city itself, Boston is hands down the best place to play @kdtrey5,” Edelman tweeted while wearing Celtics 35 Photo of jersey number.

Ortiz, meanwhile, tweeted: “Yo @KDTrey5, sorry I can’t be in today but Brady will tell you they don’t call Boston the City of Champions for nothing.”

Durant eventually signed a two-year contract with the Golden State Warriors worth more than $54 million.

He then played three seasons with the Warriors, winning NBA championships in his first two seasons and being named Finals MVP twice during that time.

Brady, meanwhile, won two more Super Bowls with the Patriots before finishing his storied career in Tampa Bay, where he and the Buccaneers earned him his seventh ring.

As for the Celtics, their championship drought has lasted fifteen seasons.
