Our news department occasionally publishes articles under the byline “staff.” Often the byline “staff” is used when rewriting basic news reports taken from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no coverage. Sometimes this caption is used when a news story includes multiple authors or when a story is formed by combining previously published news from various sources. If external sources are used, this is noted in the article.

Hi, I’m Brainerd dispatcher. I began work a few days before Christmas, 1881, and two years later began publishing a daily newspaper. I’ve gone through many changes over the years, but what has never changed is my commitment to community and local journalism. I have a whole team of dedicated people who work day and night to get me out every morning, whether it’s in print, as an e-edition, via an app, or with more information at www.brainerddispatch.com. News, weather, sports—videos, photos, podcasts and social media—tell stories from central Minnesota about your neighbors, your lakes, your communities, your challenges and your opportunities. It’s all part of an effort to keep people connected and informed. And we couldn’t do it without support.
