Roy Keane names five world-class players he worked with at Manchester United as Cristiano Ronaldo gets cruel snub

Roy Keane snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo as he listed five world-class players he has played with during his Manchester United career.

Irishman Keane first joined Manchester United in 1993 from Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder went on to make 480 appearances for the Old Trafford club, scoring 51 goals.

Keane won 7 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cup titles, 4 FA Community Shield titles, 1 Champions League title and 1 Intercontinental Cup title.

Back in 2019, Keane named five world-class players he worked with at Manchester United.

According to The Sun, he told Sky Sports: “We never gave ourselves the opportunity to talk about world-class players. But if I think back on it now, you have to classify Giggs (Ryan Giggs).

“I always categorize world-class players as lads who have been doing it for nine, 10, 11 years – obviously Giggs has been doing it for much longer, but for me it’s about becoming The key to being a really good player – you have to be consistent.

“We see the players now, they’ve had a good month and (they) pat themselves on the back. “You have to perform well year in and year out and Giggs is a great example of that. “

As well as Ryan Giggs, Keane also worked with Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, Mark Hughes and Denis Irvine.

Speaking of Irving, Keane said: “Oh my gosh, imagine if Dennis Irving was playing now. He can play left back, right back, score goals for you, knows how to defend, has never been injured, is a leader in the dressing room An outstanding guy.

“Dennis will be world-class for me – and he’s a Corkman!”

While Keane’s exclusion of Ronaldo is surprising, that may be because the pair have only spent two seasons together at the club.

In 2005, Keane gave an explosive interview after Manchester United’s 4-1 loss to Middlesbrough, in which he criticized his teammates and ultimately left Manchester United.
