The fashion weekend was incredible, with Queen Bey’s cameo in Ivy Park during her tour and rapper Nicki Minaj wearing a stunning dress made especially for her. Pink Friday 2 album cover and collaborations galore. LaQuan Smith has been on the rise this year, and Nicki Minaj is yet another celebrity to add to his catalog of big names in his projects. Tyler the Creator’s latest design endeavors involve one of his many brands, Golf le Fleur and Lacoste, in a collaborative capsule collection. It’s filled with pastel colors and classic preppy polo shirts.

Tremaine Emory, the former creative director of Supreme, has pulled out of his Denim Tears brand’s collaboration with Dr. Martens. The collaborative shoe is an ode to the “Union Flag” by British artist Chris Ofili. The new “It” shoe is being developed in collaboration with Adidas and designer Sean Wotherspoon. The sneaker features a colorful Gazelle style and comes in two vibrant colorways. Designer Sherry McMullen, who has mentored designers including Christopher John Rogers and others for the past 15 years, is launching a design incubator program for developing marginalized designers.

Sherry McMullen launches incubator for black designers

Sherry McMullen’s mentorship has always been widespread, but she is now opening her expertise to the fashion community at large. The 12-month program, called Beyond M, will help Black designers learn how to manage and grow their businesses. It’s the perfect way to celebrate McMullen’s 15th anniversary of her namesake luxury boutique in Oakland, California.

Nicki Minaj wears LaQuan Smith

Fans of LaQuan Smith and Nicki Minaj must be applauding. The Queens-raised rapper wore a custom pink dress from Smith for the cover of her recent album. Pink Friday 2 release is scheduled for November. Minaj looks regal in this fitted, cut-out dress. The bone underneath her bust and bare midriff, contrasting with the mature nature of the drapes and light cape, is a chef’s kiss. Smith carefully crafted this dress for the most important and anticipated moment in the rapper’s life.

BeyonceAND Wearing unreleased Adidas Ivy Park on the Renaissance Tour

Beyoncé did the coolest thing on her tour by wearing her own designs from her unreleased Ivy Park collection. Black leather jacket and latex bodysuit from the Ivy Park Noir collection. Expect to see logo-embossed jackets, tops, bottoms and accessories in black and leather from the collection.

GOLF Le Fleur

The creator of the brand Tyler Golf le Fleur has teamed up with Lacoste to create a capsule collection. This is a very sophisticated preppy collection featuring pastel polo shirts and a warm yellow varsity jacket with L embroidery. The collection also included cable knit cardigans with gorgeous flower buttons, pleated skirts and plenty of tartan checks.

The joint collection will be released on October 11 on lefleur.la, lacoste.com and in Lacoste stores.

Denim tears

Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory releases shoes that pay homage to Pan-Africanism and British artist Chris Ofili in collaboration with Dr. Martens. Leather loafers are available in two color options: bright red and black. Both have the colors and design of the Jamaican flag. The black couple made their first appearance in a recent exhibition entitled “The Missing Thread” in London at Somerset House.

The shoes will be available on October 17th at denimtears.com at 9am PT.
