The New England Patriots’ recent back-to-back games trailing by more than 30 points show how far this team is from the days of Tom Brady and Super Bowl championships. At least one former NFL player believes Brady, even at 46, is still good enough to help the Patriots turn their season around.
Retired cornerback Asante Samuel recently had heated words for Brady and the Patriots.
It’s also important to remember that Brady played on a Patriots team that featured primarily a historically great defense and elite skill position players, namely the greatest tight end of all time, Rob Gronkowski. Neither appears on the current New England roster.
Still, nostalgia is a strong emotion, and it’s understandable that both Samuel and Patriots fans will be recalling their golden years with Brady amid the team’s current struggles.
