Brian Windhorst tells crazy LeBron James football stories – OutKick

LeBron James apparently hasn’t stopped playing high school football because of the death of singer Aaliyah.

The pop star died in a tragic plane crash shortly after taking off from the Bahamas in August 2001, killing all nine people on board.

This is a very sad time in the music industry. This is apparently why LeBron James played football for St. Vincent-St. Louis in high school. Marie is in his junior season.

“You know why I play football? Because of Aaliyah. Because he was going to stop playing after his sophomore year, and then one of his favorite singers, Aaliyah, died in a plane crash. And, he decided he wanted to Not going to live your life in fear. So Alia’s death took him off the sidelines,” Windhorst said, reporting the incident on ESPN.

Now, I won’t say if this is a true story. It’s hard to say, but this is a story he told himself in 2002.

“No one promises you tomorrow. I have to be on the court with my team,” the current Lakers star said in a Sports Illustrated profile about Aaliyah’s death and playing football.

The greatest basketball prospect in the history of the game led people to believe he chose to return to football because of the death of a singer. Again, I’m not saying this is true or false, but it’s very on-brand for LeBron James. Everything seemed so perfect and planned.

He also has a history of saying things that simply don’t make sense or are so sensational that you have to roll your eyes.

He lied about not knowing how to fail, claimed he knew Kobe Bryant would score 81 points with the Raptors, clearly knew about Migos long before the band’s first mixtape, and never seemed to read the first few pages book and couldn’t say anything about The Godfather after claiming to be a huge fan.

His crazy claim has become so crazy that it has practically become a meme.

Seriously, watch the compilation video of LeBron’s statements below and try not to laugh.

Now, the story has been revived, and it’s hilarious. Let’s just say that. It’s funny, and I’m not sure any of LeBron James’ great stories should be believed without careful scrutiny. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
