The 18th Rome Film Festival will be dedicated to Michel Gondry, the brilliant director and screenwriter who won an Oscar®. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mindan eclectic and volcanic artist, the author of videos for songs by Björk, Daft Punk, Lenny Kravitz and many others.
The program will open with a new work by the French director. Book of solutions (Book of Solutions), which will take place on Sunday 22 October at 20:00 at the Palladium Theatre.. The film, which marks Gondry’s return after an eight-year hiatus from the big screen, is an unpredictable and wild comedy; not just a film “about cinema”, but a parable about unbridled creativity and its unknown, opening up all areas of art and human creativity – from drawing, to animation, to music – often winking in short audiovisual forms. Book of Solutions will be released in Italian cinemas on Wednesday, November 1st and will be distributed by I Wonder Pictures in collaboration with Unipol Biografilm Collection.

On Tuesday, October 24, at 16:00, the world premiere of the play will take place in the Sinopoli Hall. In bed with Gondry (In bed with Michel Gondry) François Németa, the second documentary, which the historical co-author subsequently dedicates to the director. Michel Gondry, Do It Yourselfpresented at this year’s Venice Film Festival. In bed with Gondry presents an intimate and personal portrait of the great director: during a sleepless night, Michel Gondry discusses his influences, his dreams, his nightmares and reveals the secrets of his original and unprecedented creative process. Director François Nemeta will meet in the hall.
The celebration of the director will conclude on Sunday, October 29, at 11:30, when Michel Gondry will take the stage in the Petrassi Hall for a master class with the Fest audience.organized by the writer Manlio Castagna.
