Sidney Sweeney was in danger of losing a major role in The White Lotus for the role he played in Euphoria. Sweeney is best known for playing Cassie Howard, Lexi’s (Maud Apatow) older sister, on Euphoria, for which she received an Emmy nomination. However, she landed another iconic HBO role in the first season of The White Lotus, playing Olivia Mossbacher, the sharp-tongued daughter of Nicole (Connie Britton) and Mark (Steve Zane).
Most recently, in an interview with Variety about her career, Sweeney revealed that her leading role in the cast of Euphoria hindered her ability to play the role in The White Lotus as she needed to be considered for her diversity as an actress.
