Olbia. The opening of the photographic exhibition “Star in Costa Smeralda”, photographs by Davide Caglio, will take place on Thursday 8 June at 19:00 at the Società dello Stucco gallery, via Cavour 43. The exhibition traces years of extraordinary events, skilfully immortalized by the group’s official photographer, Caglio.
Marco Navone’s press release reads: “There are places, situations to which not everyone is admitted, even if there is a camera around one’s neck. Then there is someone who is at home in those places, and a unique ease typical of someone who is accepted and well liked in that particular environment. The character is rather extraordinary, I remember him as a child, always a leader and charismatic, Then rock singer, globetrotter, owner of exclusive and unique shops and also a photographer. What a photographer. One of the few people able to explain the extraordinary international atmosphere that shelters the Costa Smeralda, and which we, the incompetent pariahs or uninformed spectators sort of, unable to understand or penetrate. He’s been walking those steps for years, so close but so far away, and always with the camera around his neck. And eventually he becomes the most authoritative witness, perhaps the witness that that once belonged to the great Nello di Salvo.
“I am especially grateful to him for always making his knowledge and talents available in the free courses that the Argonauts conduct in their offices, as well as for the invaluable advice he is always willing to give generously. However, something was lacking, for example a show that somehow celebrated their talent. Thus we propose a journey among the world’s most admired stars, photographed by professional and great music lover David Caglio. The exhibition, through the most important names in international music from photographer Elton John to Donna Summer, Gianna Nannini, Zucchero, to tell the story of the most special summer nights on the Costa Smeralda. Presents a selection of shots taken over the decades.
