The end of the first season of the vigilante of Gotham City had to be modified from their original plan due to the closures of production of the series of The CW.
The new series in the Arrowverse has just finished his first season due to the interruption, the program had completed two episodes before stopping at 20 episodes instead of the season of 22 episodes originally planned.
While shows like ‘Arrow’ and ‘Black Lightning’ they were able to finish their seasons, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘The Flash’ were two other series in the Arrowverse that were not so lucky, in fact, the number of Grant Gustin finished three episodes earlier than planned.
Within the most notable changes that had the new series, is that they had to eliminate the appearance of Supergirl in the season finale of ‘Batwoman’, due to the closures of production of the Arrowverse.
Batwoman follows Kate Kane, played by Ruby Rose, who returns to Gotham City when his cousin Bruce Wayne disappears, gets the layer and takes up the mantle as protector of the city, while facing the criminal world.
While the show started with Batwoman fighting crime in Gotham City on Earth-1, the crossover of the Arrowverse, ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, the joined all the other superheroes.
Caroline Dries, showrunner of the series, spoke about the original ending, and revealed that Kara, aka Supergirl, should appear at the end of the first season of ‘Batwoman’.
“Well, here is one of the setbacks of the Covid-19. The framework from which Kate pulls out the kryptonite, it was assumed that it was a picture of Kara and Kate“said Dries.
He added that she “I wanted to show that Kate had a picture of Kara in his library, because they are friends“.
In addition to Supergirl in the season finale of ‘Batwoman’, there were scenes that Dries wanted to include, but could not. However, she said that at the end of the day, they still had a final episode very solid series.
Although the scene of Supergirl was cut out might be a disappointment for some of us, that specific element does not seem to have had a significant impact on the specific elements of the story.
Currently, the new season of ‘Batwoman’ and the other series of the Arrowverse is expected to debut in 2021, this may change depending on how the development of the pandemic.
