A Hamas delegation led by the movement’s deputy head in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, arrived in Lebanon on Wednesday morning, Lebanese media reported.

Members of the delegation met with Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. The Hamas delegation included Osama Hamdan, a member of Hamas’ political bureau and its representative in Lebanon.

This meeting comes after the announcement of a prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas and the implementation of a temporary truce in the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas movement announced on Wednesday the killing of an official of its military wing, Khalil Kharaz, in a raid carried out by Israel in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in a statement mourned Al-Kharaz and said he came from Rashidieh camp in Lebanon, and that he “worked to support and assist the resistance at home and abroad … and in the field.”

For its part, the Lebanese Hezbollah announced yesterday, Tuesday, that one of its members was killed following wounds sustained in clashes with the Israeli army on Lebanon’s southern border.

This brings the Hezbollah death toll to 78 since October 8th.

Since that day, on a daily basis, the Israeli army has exchanged sporadic bombings with Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, leaving dead and wounded on both sides of the border.

These clashes continue in the wake of the war waged by the Israeli army 46 days ago against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 14,000 Palestinians, including more than 5,000 children, as well as more than 33,000 injuries.
