“To the Qassam soldiers who accompanied me in my last weeks,

We will part tomorrow, but I would like to express my gratitude to you for your warm attitude towards my daughter Emilia. You were like his parents, you were his friend at every opportunity. My daughter expressed that she feels that you are more than just friends.

I want to thank you again and again, you treated him like an in-home caregiver. She was patient with his mischief and gave him sweets and fruits. Despite the absence, she gave him everything she had. Of course, children should not be in captivity, but thanks to you and the other friends we met on the road, my daughter felt like the Queen of Gaza.

Every person we encountered was treated with kindness, compassion and love. I will be forever grateful to you that my child did not suffer any psychological trauma here. I will tell everyone about your good attitude towards us here, despite the difficult circumstances you are living in and your heavy losses.
