On Friday, the Israeli military released a video clip showing the moment of “interception of a hostile target” in the Red Sea region.
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee wrote on platform “X,” “The air force was called in in the morning hours following an air threat detected in the Red Sea region and was able to intercept hostile targets that were located in the area”.
He added: “These targets pose no threat to citizens, as Israeli sovereignty has not been violated.”
Adraee accompanied his words with a short video clip showing what appears to be a flying object before it is launched from the sky.

Adraee did not clarify whether the video was linked to the incident in Egypt earlier in the day.
Adraee had previously stated on platform “X” that Israel had detected “an air threat in the Red Sea region in the last few hours, and warplanes had been called in to deal with it.”
Adraee said: “In our assessment, the damage suffered by Egypt is the result of this threat.”

The Egyptian army had previously announced that six people were injured following the “fall of an unidentified procession” which occurred between Thursday night and Friday, in the city of Taba, on the border with Israel.
