“You have no idea how many times I cried this damn weekend. You don’t understand, Beyoncé is my idol, like I really, truly love Beyoncé with all my f***ing big heart,” Megan said.

The pair teamed up for the first-ever live performance of “Savage Remix” on Saturday at NRG Stadium during the Renaissance World Tour. The fans, as expected, went wild. Megan returned to Sunday’s show.

According to her, Megan wore a camouflage stage costume “because I’m going to a damn war behind Beyoncé’s back.”

“I really tried to control myself and act like a bad bitch because I’m still on stage. When I looked at Beyoncé I said, “Where the hell am I?” Oh my God. “I will never stop being Beyoncé’s #1 fan,” she added.

Megan and her late mother, who rapped under the name Holly-Wood, were “big fans” of Beyoncé.

“My whole life I said, ‘You know what? I want to be the Beyoncé of rap.” And to be able to go on stage with the woman I love, the woman who is the woman of all women? I was there with Beyoncé!” She said.

“Savage Remix” was released unexpectedly in 2020 after Megan’s solo version was already climbing the charts. This is Megan’s first place on the Billboard Hot 100 and Beyoncé’s seventh place. The song won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. All proceeds from the song went to Bread of Life, Inc. The Houston organization was founded in 1992 to provide hot meals to homeless men and women in the sanctuary of St. John’s United Methodist Church.
