After the long hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and even with cases on the rise, the festival season does not stop and proposes popular Argentine music night after night. The traditional squares of Argentina celebrate the reunion with their great popular idols of different genres.

These days one of the emblematic festivals of Argentina takes place: that of the dressage and folklore, which is celebrated in the Cordovan town of Jesus Maria and that is already in its 56th edition. In the early hours of Thursday, José Hernández took the stage, one of the main attractions of the grid: Abel Pintos. And in the first section of his concert, the Bahian asked for silence and surprised his audience with a statement.

“We have been sharing music for many years and you are there accompanying us and supporting us no matter what. As I always say, ‘I say I’m going and you say going’, and I want to thank you for that”, Abel pointed out, highlighting the gratitude of his audience and before confessing to them a discomfort he had suffered during the night before the show.

“I want to be completely frank with you. Today I woke up feeling a little sick to my vocal cords”, recognized the father of Agustin. “Sometimes it happens to me that a little discomfort in my stomach generates an issue that burns my vocal cords at night,” added the singer-songwriter and deepened the reasons that led him to share this intimacy with his audience.

“I don’t feel like I do at every show, but I’m going to be here giving one hundred percent for all of you anyway. I say this because so many years of complicity were forged by you being honest with me and me being honest with you.”, said the moved Bahiense. “I needed you guys to know this in case you hear anything strange. I’m not feeling perfectly fine, but I don’t care.”

While the cameras took the plans of the fans who listened to him attentively, the singer continued with his diagnosis. And as if he noticed the restlessness in his audience, he brought them a message of tranquility: “It is an issue that can happen every day. I am in good health and it is not something to worry about, but I wanted to share it as I do with everything, always”, continued the Bahiense amid the sustained applause of his fans, as a hug and recognition for the courage and artistic honesty .

Before continuing with the show, Abel made a gesture outside the program and did something that he does not usually do, according to his own words. “But this opportunity is special,” he clarified. “I want to dedicate this recital especially to the memory of Martín Carrizo, who is an adorable being who left us a lot of music and beautiful memories for those of us who had the opportunity to meet him.”, he pointed out moved.

The mention for the former drummer of the Indian Solari, Gustavo Cerati and Animal who passed away last Tuesday at the age of 50 after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis was special for the singer. It should be remembered that Carrizo was the producer of his third album, Things of the heart, published in 2001. With a kiss to heaven, Abel gave way to “El amor de mi vida”, the title track of his latest work, and continued his concert without major problems, writing one more page, one of the most emotional, of his idyll with the audience of Jesús María.
