Adam Drive spoilers on 65: Escape from Earth

One of the most anticipated science fiction films of the year will be released on April 27th: 65: Escape from Earth, directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and with a cast that includes Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt and Chloe Coleman. And the protagonist Adam Driver has revealed some details of the film that surprised both fans and insiders.

Based on what we’ve seen from the trailers, it seemed that astronaut Mills (Adam Driver) must have somehow traveled back in time and landed on Earth 65 million years ago, but the actor from Star Wars has now debunked this theory during an interview with Digital Spy.

“There’s no time travel, but we’re talking about a world that existed in parallel 65 million years ago, a really big concept movie about two people who had lost each other.”

So, are Mills and his young partner Koa (Arianna Greenblatt) trapped in some kind of parallel world? Driver did not elaborate on the revelation made.

The synopsis, which now takes on a quite different meaning, reads: “The pilot of a spaceship carrying 35 passengers is the victim of an accident during a flight into space. After being hit by an asteroid, he crashes on an unknown planet. The air is breathable and the nature is familiar, but there’s an aura of mystery that Mills still can’t decipher. Thus begins his exploration together with Koa, a girl who survived the crash with him. Delving into the wild nature of the planet, they feel an alien presence approaching, but when they discover that it is a prehistoric being they understand that they ended up on Earth 65 million years ago. Thus begins a struggle for survival on a planet full of dangers and wild animals. Mills and Koa have to learn to move in a hostile place where man is still unknown and has no place”.
