Dixie D’Amelio and Addison rae they have hit the ‘deepfake’ videos published by the two superstars of TikTok.
Addison Rae has the impressive amount of 60 million followers on TikTok and win the most money of any TikToker. While she may be a bit overshadowed by her little sister Charli, Dixie has still accumulated 38 million followers.
Addison and Dixie have been subjected to a torrent of hate, abuse and negative attention ever since they blew up the app, something both creators have talked about in the past, whether it has to do with false rumors about themselves or about other people.
Dixie had to defend her own family and her ex-boyfriend, Griffin Johnson, on Twitter after they faced backlash over false rumors circulating on TikTok and Instagram.
Addison and Dixie respond to internet trolls
Now, the creators’ deepfake videos have been circulating on the app, and Dixie has had enough.
According to the Instagram account ‘TikTokroom’, a deepfake was posted with the caption “Okay, imagining how embarrassing it is for Dixie’s parents once they see it.” Dixie commented on the video saying “Yes. It is a deepfake, but still my parents in this application relax ”- in capital letters.
Addison, who has also been the target of these ‘deepfakes’, responded to Dixie’s comment: “I can relate to this.”
Addison spoke about persistent internet trolls this week in an emotional Instagram live in which he said: “There are moments when I read things about myself, I read comments and I read things like that… I can’t just sit here and act like it’s never affected me, because it has. “

TikTok has recently taken steps to address the rise of deep fakes within the app. In August, the platform said they are explicitly prohibited and that they are expanding fact-checking partnerships with PolitiFact and Lead Stories.
