Adidas Crazy 1 “Wizards” IG3734

Kobe Bryant’s “sneaker free agency” period was one of the most memorable periods in footwear history, during which top athletes weren’t tied to a specific brand. He wore a variety of sneakers on the court, wearing a variety of Lakers-friendly PE colorways from Nike, Jordan and Reebok, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

In this rotation, the Air Jordan Player Exclusives stand out. When the Retro PEs were just team color swaps of existing Air Jordan models, the purple and yellow on the Air Jordan 3, 7, and 8 was absolutely stunning for its simplicity, but more so for its possibilities . Of course, Kobe then signed with Nike, spawning the greatest line of Nike Basketball signature shoes in history—one that still continues to this day.

Now, adidas has returned the favor in some fashion, releasing a Crazy 1 in Washington Wizards colors. When Jordan decided to return to the NBA because of his love for the game, it was like they made a PE for himself. It comes in an all-white base with neat hints of the blue and gold colors of Wizards of the Coast from times past.

None of this obviously has anything to do with Michael Jordan or the Wizards, but it’s fun to imagine, isn’t it? If you’re a fan of the Crazy 1, keep an eye out for the Crazy 1 to hit U.S. retailers soon, as they’re already available in Asia.
