Jehudi Castro Sierra, advisor to Iván Duque Márquez, president of Colombia, called Bitcoin the “most brilliant piece of software in history.”
The former Vice Minister of Digital Economy of Colombia, Jehudi Castro Sierra, now an advisor to President Iván Duque, described Bitcoin as the “Brightest piece of software ever”, in his responses to an interview with the medium CyptoPotato.
During the interview, Sierra Castro clarified that his job is to advise the President on everything related to technology and digital transformations. In that regard, he said that the country has become more focused on Bitcoin.
“I approached Bitcoin as a great open source project. After a while, I also became interested in the monetary innovation it represents, and I am still discovering new and incredible things every day. “Sierra Castro said during the interview.
Continuous: “Currently, one of the main focuses is cryptocurrencies. We have an innovative sandbox where we allow exchanges to reach citizens easily and safely. The idea is that the information collected in this sandbox has a friendly regulation that encourages innovation and attracts investments ”.
Castro also spoke about the 50% drop in hash adjustment in the wake of China’s ban. He noted that the network “reacted as intended,” increasing the likelihood that miners who remained on the network and connected during the migration would be successful. Since then, the hash rate has recovered, he noted.
Castro Sierra also spoke about the adoption of Bitcoin in El Salvador. He called it a “bold move.” He did not speak about whether the nation of Colombia would consider adopting Bitcoin as legal tender.
Precisely, Castro speaks to BitcoinMagazine one day after the creation of AsoBlockchain Colombia, which reviewed DailyBitcoin weekend. According to information published in the organization’s statutes and on its website, AsoBlockchain is an entity made up of entrepreneurs and entities that came together with the objective of building an organization that represents them locally and internationally, which aims to ensure the well-being and interests of its members, as well as promote education about these technologies among the general public and representatives of both government entities and the private sector.
