AEW Collision Report 08/19/2023 – Fight for the Fallen

AEW Collision Tenth Episode: Saturday Night Blog Show A.E.W. extension offers us a rich menu for tonight, with a map dedicated to the special event “Battle for the Fallen”, tonight in its third and final part!

After the usual promo to wrap up today’s card, we head to the ring where ROH Television champion Samoa Joe is about to take on The Golden Vampire. A masked wrestler attacks Joe before the match, hitting him with a running knee and a GTS: apparently it’s CM Punk taking on the Samoan’s All In: London challenge!

SINGLE MATCH: JAY WHITE (with BULLET CLUB GOLD) VS DALTON CASTLE (with THE BOYS)

The first “real” match of the evening in which Jay White faced Dalton Castle and the two were escorted by their respective stables. Casale immediately tries to become dangerous, but White immediately takes over the reins, quickly moving into a phase of dominance, also confirmed during the first commercial break. The action goes over the top, with the two factions clashing and seemingly favoring Castle, with the Boys knocking out BC GOLD. However, back in the ring, Castle suffers Jay White’s Uranage, which easily ends the argument.

WINNER: JAY WHITE

After the match, BC GOLD held an in-ring promotion by verbally attacking the elite before All In: London, with White and Robinson confident of winning in London. Soon after, the Gunns define themselves as better than the Young Bucks and issue an open challenge for the evening.

TRIO MATCH: BULLET CLUB GOLD (JUICE ROBINSON, AUSTIN & COLTEN GUNN) VS IRON SAVAGES (JACKET JAMESON, BRONSON & BULDER)

The Iron Savages appear, accepting the challenge of the Gunns and Juice Robinson. Bronson manages to initially put BC Gold in a predicament, which is restored thanks to the entry of Kolten Gunn and begins to dominate the match, allowing himself to provoke the elite from a distance. Iron savages who are back on track thanks to the arrival of Boulder, who can put the whole stable in a difficult position. However, BC Gold regained ground and soon closed out the competition thanks to Robinson’s decisive heel strike to Jacket Jackson.

WINNERS: BULLET CLUB GOLD

A clip of Billy Gunn’s “retirement” is shown, followed by the House of Black assault on Illustrious in the final episode of Dynamite. We then see the House of Black mention Ass Dad’s retirement while they throw his shoes in the trash.

After summarizing La Faccion Ingobernable’s trip to Mexico at TripleMania 31 Mexico City, we are back in the ring. Tony Schiavone is facing Ricky Starks and Big Bill, a new ally of Cup winner Owen Hart, and Bill will soon face Derek Neal with Starks in his corner.

SINGLE MATCH: BIG BILL (with RICKY STARKS) VS. DEREK NEAL

The match is dominated by Big Bill, who ends the fight with a choke.

WINNER: BIG SCORE

SINGLE MATCH: WILLOW NIGHTINGALE VS DIAMOND

Women’s match where Willow Nightingale will face Diamante. Initially, Willow is in control of the match until Mercedes Martinez interferes, allowing Diamante to turn the match in her favor. After the break, Willow regains control of the match when Chris Statlander attacks Martinez. At this point, Nightingale ends the hostilities with a sitting bomb.

WINNER: WILLOW NIGHTINGALING

After the commercial break, Lexi Nair interviews Toni Storm, who assures her that she and Saraya will support each other in All in London.

SINGLE MATCH: POWERHOUSE HOBBS VS KEVIN KU

The penultimate match of the evening, in which Powerhouse Hobbs will face Kevin Koo. Hobbs dominates the competition and immediately gets a Spinebuster after hitting Koo with a second string Von earlier.

WINNER: POWERHOUSE HOBBS

In the post-match match, Hobbs locks Koo in Game Over, taunting Miro. A Bulgarian wrestler appears in the titantron and promises revenge in preparation for All Out.

After reviewing the situation between Adam Cole and MJF, we come to the main event of the evening where Darby Allin will face Christian Cage!

SINGLE MATCH: DARBY ALLIN VS CHRISTIAN CAGE (with LUHASAUR)

Christian immediately sends Allin to a corner, who does not let himself be intimidated and manages to put the Canadian in a difficult position. However, outnumbering is soon felt as Luchasaurus beats the former TNT Champion outside the ring, cementing his mentor’s dominance. Christian makes fun of Allin by suggesting he take the belt and then throw it into the ring. Cage later goes after Spear, who is avoided at the last minute by Sting’s protégé. After the commercial break, Allin managed to catch up by sending Christian into a chair and throwing him into the same chair before attempting to drop the coffin, interrupted by Luchasaurus’s return. Christian hits Allin with a spear and is about to use Killswitch, but is surprised by Allin’s Roll-up, who takes home the victory.

WINNER: DARBY ALLIN

Allin doesn’t have time to applaud, who is knocked out by Cage and Luchasaurus. Shortly after, Christian fakes a pin on Allin and “forces” Tony Schiavone to declare him TNT Champion again. The episode ends with Swerve Strickland and A.R. Fox enjoying each other backstage when they first saw each other.
