Christian “El Volador” Camilieri, the well-known leader of the Gymnastics fans, was released this Saturday after spending a night in detention in the framework of a case he has open for “illegal possession of firearms.”
The release was confirmed to 0221.com.ar by his lawyers, who once remarked that the procedure carried out on Friday to arrest him, “has nothing to do” with the attack perpetrated this week against the Estadio de Estudiantes, in 1 between 55 and 57. “He is oblivious to the attack on the field and he was prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm since his license to carry expired, “said his defender Gustavo Galasso.
Judicial sources reported that the arrest was ordered by the judge Agustin Crispo, in charge of the Court of Guarantees No. 6 of La Plata, after the request of the prosecutor Juan Cruz Condomí Alcorta who carries out the investigation.
Although at first it transpired that “El Volador” had been arrested for an attack on the Estadio de Estudiantes, a version still held by some media, his lawyers explained to 0221.com.ar that in reality, when the authorizations expired, he was left as an “illegitimate user of weapons.” The lawyers also denied that Camilieri’s son had a warrant for his arrest.
