Air Jordan 1 Mid GS “Michael Jordan’s Playground” FQ1292-003

Jordan Brand’s designs draw on countless cultural touchpoints, many of which center on Jordan’s movie persona.

Before “Space Jam” became Jordan’s most famous film, he starred in Zack Snyder’s 1991 debut “Michael Jordan’s Playground.” The movie tells the story of a kid who doesn’t make the high school basketball team but continues to train until one day. He met Michael Jordan on the playground and everything changed.

Now, Jordan Brand is using this milestone to design a new Air Jordan 1 Mid in grade school sizing. The “Michael Jordan Playground” logo seen in the movie is prominently displayed on the heel, paired with distressed green and red suede, recalling the look of the beloved basketball shoe. Multicolor Wings and Jumpman branding reflect the ’90s design language on the eyelets and tongue respectively, while the rest of the upper features black leather.
