The American network expands the so-called Immortal Universe of acclaimed author Anne Rice by working on a series about the secret Talamasca organization.
We knew it was only a matter of time. The American network AMC extension consolidates its commitment to expand the television universe based on the works of the fantasy writer Anne Rice developing a third series after Interview with the Vampire And Mayfair Witches.
AMC is working on a series about Talamasca
The cable network has announced that it is actively developing a third series set in the so-called Immortal Universe by Rice and with at the helm John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) as showrunner and writer. The series, still untitled, would be set in the world of Talamasca, a secret organization present in numerous novels by the author, which is dedicated to the study of the supernatural world and the protection of mortals from its darkest elements.
Since 2020, when AMC Networks acquired the rights to Anne Rice’s entire body of work, the network has said it was willing to exploit it as much as possible. The collection includes 18 titles by the author, including The Vampire Chronicles And The Lives of the Mayfair Witches. The producer Mark Johnson (breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) oversees the development of the entire universe.
The universe of Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches
This potential third series would add to Interview with the Vampire (based on Interview with the vampire) And Mayfair Witches (based on The cycle of the Mayfair Witches). Of the former, which follows the epic story of love and bloodshed by Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles which will replace Bailey Bass from the second season) told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), filming of the second season is currently underway in Prague. Mayfair Witchesinstead, it follows Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Fielding, a young neurosurgeon who discovers he is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. AMC is also planning several crossovers between the two titles. Unfortunately both are still unpublished in Italy.
