After the opening of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, the out-of-competition film of Jeanne Dubarry – “Favorita del Re”, directed by Maivenn (multiple actress and director of the Cesar Award, winner of the Cannes Film Festival jury prize for her third directorial work), Polisse).
A tense story of love and passion at the court of Versailles, recounting the life, rise and fall of Jeanne, played by Maiwenn herself, mistress of His Majesty Louis XV with the face of an unprecedented Johnny Depp. Rounding out the cast are stars Benjamin Laverne (The French Control Room), Melville Poupeau (Brother and Sister), Pierre Richard (Meet the Parents), Pascal Greggory (The Last Hour) and Indian Hair (La Lin – invisible line). The film will be released in our theaters by Notorious Pictures starting August 30th.
