In fact, a few years after he landed in the United States of America, Carmine became the husband of Louise Erindine Sorbenheimer., daughter of a prominent Philadelphia lawyer. In 1885 they married, and from their union Rosa Baldi was born, in honor of his mother, who was born in 1920.

It was she who joined the branch of the Swift family, married Colonel Archie Dean Swift years later. The couple had three children, including Scott, who had little Taylor born Andrea Gardner Finlay in 1989.
