Prestigious supporting role in what we still consider today the best film directed by Christopher Nolan. Reflection on the truth of appearances, The Prestige it has a sumptuous and melancholic staging within which the masterful interpretations of Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall and of the late David Bowie. War: Planet of the Apes (2017)

Matt Reeves directs a science fiction film that revisits the saga, winks at both the revisionist western and even Apocalypse Now. In short, War – Planet of the Apes

it is a truly effective genre cinema compendium, spectacular first of all in the settings and often in the construction of the plot and characters. Woody Harrelson as a “villain” in full Marlon Brando style is at times vibrant. The conclusion of the trilogy is also the best chapter. Much better. Excellent genre product. Available on Disney+.

Black Panther (2018)

In what could easily be Disney/Marvel’s best cinecomic – not that it takes too long to become one – Serkis carves out the functional and fun role of the ultra-villain mercenary. Excellent counterpart to the antagonist played by Michael B. Jordan. Ryan Coogler builds Black Panther as a “mirror” that narrates the different positions in the battle for civil rights in filigree, with T’Challa recalling the doctrine of Martin Luther King and Killmonger who instead refers to that of Malcolm X. The Batman (2022)

Again for Matt Reeves Serkis plays a sinewy and charismatic Alfred Pennyworth, trusted confidant and mentor of Robert Pattinson/Bruce Wayne. Constructed like a top-notch detective story, The Batman it possesses the necessary aesthetic and narrative coherence to convince. Few defects for an inspired, nocturnal and rainy cinecomic, with excellent moments of cinema and a finale that keeps the tension very high. Audiences and critics like it, and the film deserves it.
