It looks like Anthony Davis has some extra motivation heading into the new season. Not that he needs more after a disappointing 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, but it would certainly help to see AD get even hotter.
Lakers fans have to thank the Denver Nuggets for this, though. Every Los Angeles fan knows that the defending NBA champions have a lot to say after defeating the Purple and Gold in the Western Conference Finals. Who can forget Michael Malone’s attack on LeBron James and his teammates. Constantly, including the moment he rubbed it into LA’s face as they swept them?
“It’s a collector’s item. I looked happy out there. What happened that night? Do you remember? Something about brooms and broomsticks. I don’t know,” Malone said in a Polaroid shot while showing off the Western Conference Finals victory. Said when getting the photo, obviously targeting the Lakers.
Of course, Malone didn’t stop there. After winning the Finals, the Nuggets head coach teased LeBron by saying he was also considering retirement, referring to James’ recent playoff exit after revealing he was considering calling it a career.
As expected, Anthony Davis Not satisfied All the trash talk they received, to the point where he had a conversation with LeBron James about it and expressed motivation to return to the Nuggets.
“It’s a lot like talking. … We get it, you all win, but LeBron and I had some conversations like, ‘We can’t wait,'” Davis shared.

Lakers fans will definitely love this mentality from Anthony Davis. The extra motivation he needs after making it all the way to the conference finals might be all he needs to lead Los Angeles back to the promised land.
Of course, it won’t be easy and AD will have to stay healthy throughout the season, but as we all know, the aggressive Davis is a different beast.
I hope he can keep his word, take revenge on the Nuggets, and lead the team to challenge Larry O’Brien again.
