Arcane 2: Season 2 is not coming to Netflix this year

The first season of the animated series League of Legends Of Netflix, Arcane, was so great and was so successful that it almost immediately got a renewal for a second season. That was over a year ago, and while fans were hoping for Arcane 2 to arrive this year, it’s clear to everyone that by now we’ll have to wait a little longer.

Riot Games CEO, Nicholas Laurentrecently offered an update on Arcane season 2 in an interview, stating that we’ll have to wait until 2024 to be able to see the new episodes.

Laurent then explained why it will take longer for the release of Arcane 2:

“It is not ready yet and there are two reasons. One: you want quality. We don’t want to be in a hurry and therefore it takes time. This is a good reason. The less good reason is that, honestly, we didn’t know if Season 1 was going to be a hit and so we only started Season 2 (later). Had we known, we could have started season 2 much earlier. But we didn’t know it, so we waited a bit and now we’re paying for it. So sadly, it won’t be this year.”

The series is set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underworld of Zaun, and the story follows the “origins of two iconic League champions and the power that will divide them”. The two characters are Vi and Jinx, sisters who find themselves at odds after a series of tragic and unfortunate events.
