For days on social media, rumors have been chasing that two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and American singer Taylor Swift would be a new couple. Both recently single, the two are allegedly dating: but what’s true?
Stseemed to have been born as a single baseless rumor and instead, within a few days, it quickly conquered social media and spread like wildfire all over the world: according to some rumors, unconfirmed and not supported by photographs or other evidence of any kind, the two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso and the famous American singer Taylor Swift they would be a new couple.
The rumor, born right online, has driven fans crazy on both sides, reaching the world of memes with ironic tweets from everywhere (beautiful that of the official Ryanair account).
But what is true in this story? Both single since shortly after Fernando Alonso announced the end of his love story with the journalist Andrea Schlager and Taylor Swift would ended the relationship with Joe Alwyn after more than six years, the two public figures would have been spotted together on more than one occasion. The first meeting between the two would have taken place in 2016, when Swift sang at the concert organized during the Austin GP and where she met Alonso, racing with McLaren.
A baseless rumor, however, which has turned into a sort of ironic “obsession” that seeks a connection between the two in everything: between the hypotheses of dedications in Taylor’s songs up to the numerical references in Alonso’s race towards the singer. If you come across some strange theory online about the two then don’t ask yourself too many questions: it is (until proven otherwise) a great general hallucination.
