Armenia accused Russia of returning the trucks

The Yerevan administration responded to Russia on the grounds that it blocked the shipment of export products.

It is noteworthy that many vehicles carrying products are not allowed to enter the Russian border.

Armenian Economy Minister Vahan Keropyan said that more than 60 vehicles loaded with agricultural products were returned from the Georgian-Russian border gate recently.

The Russian position sparked a reaction from Armenia

Hence, the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan transferred the position of the Russian side to the Eurasian Economic Union. The union was called to an emergency meeting.

Keropian argued that Armenian producers do not compromise on AEB rules and quality, and stated that trucks carrying products to Russia were sent back through the border gate.

“They reject our trucks.”

Pointing out that they studied the position of the Russian Food Safety Authority (Roselkhoznadzor), Keropyan said:

It’s interesting, but Russia, which rejected a total of 35 Armenian trucks in one year, has not crossed the same number of vehicles across the border in two days.

Trucks carrying products are kept waiting

Keropian noted that the emergency meeting of the European Union would be held within two days, and stated that many trucks carrying Armenian products were waiting at the border.

In the statement issued by the Russian Food Safety Authority, it was stated that there was a sharp increase in the supply of infected products from Armenia and that Armenia was asked to take necessary precautions.

The purpose of the AEB, which was created in 2014

The Eurasian Economic Union was established on 29 May 2014 by Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia with the aim of creating a common market in which goods, labour, services and capital would trade freely and ultimately achieve political safety.

Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union, a political and economic union, on October 9, 2014, and Kyrgyzstan on December 23, 2014.
