The “Wednesday” actress recalled the occasion on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Last month Jenna Ortega made one of her dreams come true by meeting Paul Mescal in person.
The two met at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, where the “Wednesday” actress spent the awards ceremony with Zendaya and Paul — an event the former Disney Channel talent talked about Thursday in her interview. hosted on «The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon».
Jenna had met Zendaya before, the two had “a good chat,” however she was so eager to meet the “Aftersun” star that she couldn’t look him in the eye. “I was freaking out because Zendaya was sitting next to Paul Mescal, who I think is so talented and so good,” Jenna Ortega shared.
“I was so nervous about meeting him – I knew he’d be at my table. He showed up when I didn’t expect it. He was like, ‘Oh hi, nice to meet you, it’s Paul,’ and I was so nervous I couldn’t look into his eyes.’
The 20-year-old then playfully mimicked the way she greeted the actor and complimented him on “Aftersun” as she looked at the table.
During the ceremony, Jenna presented an award with Aubrey Plaza, the two performed a bit, making fun of their obscure on-screen characters: the gag sparked social media over a possible collaboration.
In response to the backlash, Jenna told Jimmy, “I’d do anything with her. Everyone says, “Oh, you remind me of Aubrey, you two should work together.”
