AUGUST 3RD: Shark 2: Abyss

Directed by Ben Wheatley (“Kill List”) Shark 2: Abyss (a.k.a. Meg 2: The Trench) is a sequel Shark – the first sharkaction/survival movie about megalodon directed by John Turteltaub in 2018.
The film is currently in cinemas in our country, distributed by Warner Bros.

Plot: Diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) leads a team of explorers into the depths of the ocean. However, their journey into the depths of the ocean will turn into a nightmare when mining puts their mission in jeopardy and forces them to fight for survival against ruthless environmental marauders and dangerous megalodons.

As part of Shark 2: Abyss we find Jason Statham joined by Cliff Curtis, Sophia Kai and Paige Kennedy, Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Afterlife), Skyler Samuels (Scream Queens) and Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood).
Instead, the film’s script is being edited by Dean Georgaris, John and Erich Hoeber, who wrote the script for the first chapter.

10TH OF AUGUST: Demeter: Dracula’s Awakening

Distributed by 01 Distribution, a vampire movie. Demeter: Dracula’s Awakening (aka The Last Journey of Demeter) hits theaters on August 10th. The film is directed by André Øvredal Scary stories to tell in the dark AND Openingand he is played by Spanish actor Javier Botet (REC, Mother, Don’t knock on that door), here as Dracula.

Produced by DreamWorks Pictures in association with Universal and written by Bragi Shut (Escape Room), Demeter: Dracula’s Awakening inspired Dracula (1897), a gothic novel by Bram Stoker based solely on the chapter Captain’s Journal literary work.

The story sheds light on the journey and massacre of the crew aboard the Demeter, the Russian private cargo ship that brought the famous vampire coffin from Transylvania to London. Finally, approaching the harbor of Whitby, the ship turned into a wreck.
The film details the strange events that befell the crew as they struggled to survive their ocean voyage, haunted and terrorized by a terrifying presence every night.

The cast also includes Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale), Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead), David Dastmalchian, John Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic and Nikolai Nikolaeff.

AUGUST 23: ghost house

horror comedy ghost house (aka The Haunted Mansion) hits theaters on August 23 with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Italy.

this is a new adaptation inspired by the famous attraction present in all Disney amusement parks.

The film boasts a notable cast including Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Rosario Dawson (Sin City), Owen Wilson (Handsome Shot), Danny DeVito (War of the Roses), Jared Leto (Squad Suicides”), Winona Ryder (“Bram Stoker”). Dracula) and Lakeith Stanfield (“Knives Out”).

Synopsis: A single mother named Gabby (Rosario Dawson) has just purchased a mansion in New Orleans at an unusually affordable price to start a new life with her 9-year-old son Travis (Chase W. Dillon). However, only after the purchase does the woman realize that the house is haunted. Desperate for help to exorcise the entities, Gabby turns to a priest who will contact a paranormal researcher, French psychic and short-tempered historian to exorcise the house…

24 AUGUST: volkins

Werewolf Horror volkins (aka Kommunioun) directed by Jacques Molitor (Mummedjong, Coyotes) from a script by Regine Abadia, Jacques Molitor and Magali Negroni.
The film is distributed by Satine Films and will be released in theaters on August 24th.

Plot: Elaine (Louise Manteau) is a single mother concerned about the aggressive behavior of her son Martin (Victor Dieu). The woman decides to travel to the small town of Luxembourg to introduce the boy to his paternal grandparents. However, it doesn’t take long for Elaine to realize that the two elders are hiding a dark nature, and when she realizes that Martin can become like them, she will be forced into a desperate struggle to protect her son’s future.

It stars Wolfkin Louise Manto, Victor Dieu, Marja-Lina Juncker, Jules Werner, Marco Lorenzini, Miriam Müller, Julia Chernyshkova and Jean-Jacques Rosen.
