Noskova calls Williams her favorite childhood player

In a post-match interview, the world number 50 was asked about her favorite player. After selecting the American superstar, Nokova also had some kind words for her Ukrainian opponent, who was forced to leave the match with a back injury.

“Well, when I was younger, I didn’t watch much tennis… but I think when I started playing, I was a big fan of Serena,” Noskova said. “I always have been, and probably always will be. I really love her style, her lifestyle and who she is as a person. In fact, I’d say Elena is probably one of them too. I really love Love her style. She can change the direction or the tempo of the game, so I’m always a big admirer of players who can hit the net or shoot the ball. I was kind of counting on that today. Unfortunately we didn’t get to know each other on the court today, but maybe “next Let’s play ball together this time.”
