FutileDjstivo has been in existence for the twenty-third year of its activity. Composer, sound engineer, field sound engineer, and music selector, mainly Free Music, Hard Bop, M Base, for the 30th Avellino Jazz offers a very special listening experience: the complete collection of “Wildflowers – The New York Loft Jazz Sessions”.
A five-album series recorded May 14–23, 1976 at Studio Rivbea, a jazz loft in New York City run by Sam Rivers and his wife Bea. The albums include performances by bands led by Hamiet Blueett, Anthony Braxton, Marion Brown, Dave Burrell, Andrew Cyril, Oliver Lake, Jimmy Lyons, Ken McIntyre, Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre, Roscoe Mitchell, David Murray, Sunny Murray, Sam Rivers, Leo Smith, Henry Threadgill and Randy Weston.
FutileDjStivo from 2003 to 2005 attended courses and laboratory of electronic music under the guidance of maestro Giorgio Nottoli at the University of Rome 2, starting the composition phase. Through concrete sound and electronic processing, he begins composing work, both exclusively musical and in collaboration with the performing arts. Thus, attention to sound-noise evokes music not as a soundtrack, but as a structural and dramatic element. The extreme attempt to “hear movement” and “see sound” is certainly, like the quotation (Sergey M. Eisenstein), a need for compositional development, which we strive to make artistic research expressive.
Various compositions are presented, twenty years of work on wine, studied as a generator of creative processes.
