I rarely watch a movie trailer to get a taste of what’s to come. In the case of Barbie by Greta Gerwig, however, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to make an exception. The thing is, with his re-reading of Little Women, in 2019, the one with Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep, to be clear, the director conquered me. As far as I’m concerned, you could direct a three-hour magnum opus on how cardboard is made, and I’d do anything not to miss it. I think I could see it even more times. Imagine if, as in this case, it is a film that promises to be engaging and which boasts, moreover, a stellar cast, which includes, among others, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Hari Nef, Issa Rae and Michael Cera. So I succumbed to temptation and, yes, looking forward to the arrival of Barbie, I watched the new trailer of the film. Below you will find the reflections that the vision inspired me.

2. Barbie Land? I.e. that super-faux plasticky place where the lead singer of Aqua took a drive with Ken, she had a pool party and ended up losing an arm, all while obsessively chanting I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie world?
3. Oh, Barbie’s shoes! We absolutely have to bring back mules with a pink flamingo pom on the toe.
4. I actually wore a pair on Halloween to complete my robotic housewife costume, and I have to say they were awfully uncomfortable, but still…
