In response to the complaints, the BBFC said: “The Batman features a sinister version of Gotham City where Batman teams up with an investigator to solve a series of murders. The killer subdues his victims and uses tools to intimidate them before killing them. The tone is consistently grim and the film portrays its world less fantastically than previous incarnations of the Batman character on the big screen.,
